Erin Henderson Astley, DDS

Greetings, I am Dr. Erin Astley. 

I grew up in Elyria, Ohio. I went to high school in Elyria and for college I attended the Ohio State University. I received my bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary, Ecology, Organismal Biology. I went on to obtain my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2005 at The Ohio State University. I went on to practice in my hometowns of Elyria and Vermilion. I current practice in Vermilion exclusively. A few years ago, I relocated to Catawba Island with my husband Brendan Astley M.D. (Pain Management and Anesthesiologist) and our four wonderful children, our English mastiff, our gray cat and a small flock of chickens. I enjoy farming, gardening, cooking, singing and playing with my kids. I am a certified in yoga and reiki. I practice meditation. I am an artist and a calligrapher. I also enjoy sports like golf, basketball, Tai Kwan Do, paddle boarding and kayaking.

I have very a unique perspective to dentistry. Growing up, dentistry was our family business. I have worked in all aspects of the dental office. My parents are both dentists. Both of my parents’ practice in their own unique way and have taught me how important the patient and the dental team contribute to the overall happiness of practice. My mother was the first woman dentist in our county. My father has always been a trendsetter too. With my parents love of dentistry, it was hard for me to find another career that compares. I grew up associating that dentistry could be fun and there could be laughter as well as healing in a dental office. Due to my artistic talent, I love esthetic and restorative dentistry. I love to make a person’s smile both beautiful and functional. I love when my staff and I help a person enjoy smiling again without pain, apprehension or discomfort.

Our office offers full-service dentistry that includes restorative dentistry, orthodontics (braces), Endodontics (root canal), cosmetic dentistry, implant restoration, dentures, partials, snore guards, sport guards, TMJ Disorder and minor oral surgery cases. We may have to refer you out depending on your case.  

I also enjoy seeing children of all ages and I enjoy working with patients that are nervous about coming to the dental office.  

We have enacted many safety standards to make sure your appointment is safe and ideal. We continue to educate ourselves on new and reliable techniques to enhance your dental experience and results. We pride ourselves on word of mouth referrals and compliments. You are more likely to hear about us from a friend or family member then an advertisement. We consider your referrals the biggest form of confidence in our practice.
